| intervista a Gerard 5 dicembre 2007 - Nuova Zelanda. ClickCITAZIONE Ten months after their performance at the Big Day Out, My Chemical Romance are back in New Zealand.
Nightline spoke to front man Gerard Way about his new comic book series, outdoor pursuits, and tentatively about the genre thing.
My Chemical Romance have been busy selling millions of albums and making some pretty hard out music videos.
But it seems the fun is still in the live stuff.
Just like any other band there has been controversy - for “MCR” most of the controversy's been around their genre.
But no, they are not an “emo” band, never have been and never will be - although you could be mistaken for thinking as much.
A mistake that Nightline's entertainment reporter David Farrier made in his last interview.
He was sent more hate mail than he has ever received before.
But Way is not just about the music.
He is a pretty talented artist too.
“The Umbrella Academy” is being published by Dark Horse comics.
He's also into oil painting and wants to write a book.
Even though you will not see Way jumping off the sky tower or climbing the harbour bridge while he is here, his insight into the next album is that it will be “crazier”.
And fans of this "non-emo" but arguably dark and mysterious band can get their fix tomorrow at Auckland’s Vector Arena. |
